We are contemplating integrating support for Bosch range finders in an OSS surveying app that we maintain. Technically this will be implemented as a separate interface app in any case, but that will allow us to distribute it as a closed source, binary apk only. This would avoid disclosure of details of the protocol as required by the EULA. However section 2. of the EULA doesn't grant any distribution rights in any form (including in an apk). Now I suspect this is likely unintentional, as providing a SDK that you can't actually use to build an app wouldn't seem to make much sense, however in the current form it isn't usable. It should be noted that such functionality for our app had previously (a couple of years back) been developed by a German university, however they never distributed this because of the extremely problematic restrictive terms. It would further be nice to have clarification on reuse of the code in the sample app, in particular the BT setup code would make developers lives a bit easier and please include the licence text in the library archive for reference purposes.
