Control plus Studio allows you to change the user name and password of the existing users.
Create a dummy project with Control plus Studio 5.x.
Add an IPC target system and configure the hostname/IP address of your mPad.
Open "Remote connection to target device" in the context menu of the IPC
In the Credentials tab, check Change username and Change password and change the users back to OpconUser/OpconAdmin

In the meantime I found biggest disadvantage of option 2, which is you are not able to use it until you pack it in to the library and add it to references. This is not much comfortable during the development, because I need to continuously work with source code of object, base and peripheral in my project. I do not want to create library everytime I change something.

With the plcChangeOverStarted-Event MES validates the type (if it exists or is released, ...). You get the result in the result code (if the validation was successful). Only after successful validation you can continue your changeover. --> You have to send the TypeNoNew.
