If the file is really identical to the original, I have no idea why the message appears. The integrity check is active by default for new projects, but it can be deactivated, see here: 'Project settings' dialog - 'Security' - Bosch Rexroth Product Information Portal

It should work the way you are trying. If you configure Level 0x101 at the root of the structure, this is valid for the whole structure unless you add security properties at child elements. You should check the properties at the struct instance though, because you can add and override properties there as well. (If the elements are not created at the instance, that's ok. In that case the properties from the definition are used.)

Technically, it is possible to use almost any Windows IPC to run the HMI. Without the infrastructure provided by the Nexeed target system image, some important features like e.g. deployment won't work though. Apart from that, BCI will not provide any support for such use-cases. A separate license for an additional HMI is not required. The Control plus license is managed by the License server on the PLC hardware. The HMI will contact that license server in order to check the license.
