Hi LlobetAtWork, thank you so much! I was desperately trying but I never managed to wake up again, I'll try with your code as soon as my current project allows. In the meantime we tried with power banks to enhance the uptime of the device. With them we had the problem that the power bank once charged the XDK and then not anymore (even with resets I could only seldomly trigger recharges). The device is already in use, but I'll be glad to deliver a better working version. Kind regards, Markus

Hi Padmapriya, thank you for your answer. Do you have any hints regarding battery life? If I calculate correctly I should be able to expect a battery life of at most 145 hours in EM1 (if I take only the MCU): 560 mAh / (80 µA/Mhz * 48 Mhz) = 145 h EM2 should be able to deliver a much longer battery life with a current of just 1.1 µA. I tried assembling a minimal example with regularly (every 10 min with disabling storage in between) writing the battery voltage to the SD card and reached about 2.5 days. Is this realistic or does it seem like I'm burning power somewhere in excess? Sleep mode EM2 is not feasible? We hoped to be able to reach two weeks with regular sensor measurements, writing to SD card and publishing to AWS. Are such numbers possible? Your Bosch XDK in general is really a great device and a joy to work with. Only the energy management is a pressing issue for us. Kind regards, Markus

Hi community, I'm struggling in a project in which we want to utilize the Bosch XDK for at least two weeks of uninterrupted measuring and data upload to AWS. Could anyone of you realize a similar application? With a minimal application only logging the battery voltage to the SD card every hour I get a battery life of about 2.5 days. With my application (reading all sensors, writing SD card and publishing to AWS) my battery life goes down to about 2 days. I see that in the SystemStartup.c:493 the system is brought into sleep mode 1. If I try to replace this by sleep mode 2 the XDK never seems to wake up again. I tried utilizing LETIMER to cause an interrupt for wake-up, but I could not get any sign that the XDK was waking up again. Best regards, Markus

Hello, I'm trying to understand how to activate sleep mode with Bosch XDK. I tried to understand and implement these old forum threads: 1 and 2 Unfortunately I lack the required FreeRTOS knowledge. According to the Bosch XDK Release Notes sleep in idle should anyhow be activated. But my Bosch XDK drains the battery in idle within 2.5 days. Edit: Upon trying to place the system in a low power state by defining void vApplicationIdleHook(void) I found that this is already defined in ../xdk110/Common/source/SystemStartup.c which seems to get triggered on every tick. Just for my understanding: Wouldn't it be better to utilize configUSE_SLEEP_MODE_IN_IDLE from FreeRTOSConfig.h as argument for MCU_Sleep_EnterSleep? Kind regards, Markus
